Thank You!

IMG_2995This is a formal THANK YOU for your overwhelming support during my Facebook “like” contest last month! I now have over 150 likes on Facebook and over 200 subscribers for my travel site. I am honored that you value my articles and hope that we continue to share this journey together.

The randomly selected winner of the contest was Nicola Mangan. Nicola and I knew each other as kids, having attended the same elementary school. Nik’s family came here from Ireland many years ago and as an adult, she opted to move back to her homeland. Fortunately, Nik was visiting Southern California for the winter holiday and I was able to meet up with her. It was great fun catching up, giving her the $50 gift card, and hearing more cool stories about life on the Emerald Isle.

A check is also in the mail for $50 to Pugs N’ Pals. I am a dog lover and I believe in animal rescue, in general. For more information about their rescue efforts, check out

I hope to not only continue sharing my adventures with you, but to also incorporate articles about wonderful philanthropic efforts. This was an idea I pitched to Samantha Brown last year at the LA Travel & Adventure Show. I have decided to take my own advice. No matter where my adventures take me, I always find loveGruene, Texas and kindness. I find this in all shapes, all sizes, all colors, and all combinations. I hope to infuse more of that into my articles.

Nik shared with me one group she is passionate about called Aoibheann’s Pink Tie. This is an organization in Ireland that is dedicated to helping the families who have children with cancer. The founders lost their young daughter, Aoibheann, and this group creates a support system for these families. Aoibheann’s Pink Tie has a page on Facebook.

Sometimes the journey isn’t just about that cool new travel location. It’s about the amazing people and the ways in which we enrich each other’s lives. Thank you for letting me enrich yours.
